PM: Hosting the SEA Games Harder than Hosting the ASEAN Summit

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen praised DPM Tea Banh for leading the SEA Games in Cambodia smoothly. He acknowledged that hosting the SEA Games was more difficult than hosting the ASEAN Summit last November.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony for students of three schools of agriculture at the Koh Pich Exhibition Center on the morning of May 15, the PM said that the leadership of the ASEAN Summit faced only two issues: the security of the leaders of the visiting countries and how to issue a joint statement of the meeting.

As for the SEA Games, the host country needs to have more arrangements, including the venues, the safety of thousands of athletes, and the transportation and accommodation of the players.

"Well, I'm proud to be associated with the leadership of DPM Tea Banh," he said.

With only two days left of the 2023 SEA Games, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia lead the medal board.
